Albert Taylor was born in Chippenham on 16th June 1899 (Newmarket Q2-1899 3B:542), baptised in Chippenham on July 9th 1899, the son of Alfred and Susannah
TAYLOR (née BANKS).
1901 census...Aged 1, he was at Malting Yard, Chippenham with his father Alfred TAYLOR [35] agricultural labourer born Chippenham, his mother Susannah[36] born in Hargrave, sister Ethel [13] and brother Alfred E [9] both born in Chippenham. 1911 census...Aged 11 he was still at Malting Yard, Chippenham, with his parents, brother Alfred (farm labourer) and new brother Horace [8] born in Chippenham. His elder brother Alfred Edward was killed in June 1916 see here. |

He enlisted in Cambridge.

Doingt had been captured on the 5th and the 20th, 41st and 55th Casualty Clearing Stations moved in, remaining until October. It seems most likely that Albert was wounded near Epehy and taken to one of these CCS. |
